Introducing Jelly by butter LONDON – an utterly unique approach to nails for Spring/Summer 2010! A soft hint of colour, which can be adjusted to compliment what seemed like a juxtaposition of trends on the runway. For this season we saw ethereal fabrics and nude color, high impact sparkle, body conscious silhouettes, even flashes of striking colours such as red on the catwalk. butter LONDON wanted to reflect all these strong trends with this new collection.

So why these shades? “At first the Spring/Summer collections for 2010 left me baffled!” explains Nonie Creme, Creative Director and celebrity manicurist for butter LONDON. “How would I create nail shades for such a polarized season? There was a big divide between intense colour and total nudity in terms of catwalk makeup and nails. The challenge was to find a middle ground that suited both directions.”

Based on inspirations from her work backstage this season for Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, Phi, and Jenni Kayne, Nonie created a completely new collection of lacquers. These sumptuous sherbet shades give sheer, gelatinous coverage which deepen with each coat. They represent a totally new way to use and adjust colour to suit any look. The Jelly collection can be worn naturally as a stain, or you can keep adding coats to deepen the intensity of the shade.

As always, the "3 Free” butter LONDON formulation offers a safer alternative to chemicals you are exposed to by other nail products. We believe in colour, not carcinogens.

We’re supporting Julia Wenlock from Toot Sweets on Butcher Row next week in her bid to raise money for charity with an evening of carols and shopping. It’s taking place at St Julian’s Church off the High Street on 9 December from 6-9pm. There will be a selection of lovely independent retailers, including us, the Nice Cream Company selling beautiful gifts and treats for Christmas. Singers from the Shropshire Youth Choir will also be performing some festive favourites and there will be a raffle. Cakes, Mulled Wine and Chocolates will also be available! All the money raised will be going towards Julia’s fund-raising for Kilimanjaro 2010 so come along. Her climb is supporting World Vision & Cancer Research UK and she is hoping to raise £10,000 to be split between the two charities.

Ryan & Vicki, from the Beacon Radio Morning Show, presented us with our certificate and posed for some publicity shots yesterday afternoon. Moisturising in the Mountains! Beauty news from our Ski Holiday

Nicola and I have just returned from a fabulous ski holiday in Meribel. Perfect snow, delicious food and plenty of Vin Chaud to keep the chill off. It doesn't get any better than that! We made sure we packed our beauty essentials along with our thermals. We can't praise the moisturising effects of Korres Body Butter enough. It coped brilliantly with the drying effects of the cold mountain air and is keeping our skin super soft back in a decidely chilly Shrewsbury. Apres ski we were both slathered in REN Frankinsence and Boswellia Serrata Revitalising Repair Cream. This wonderful product moisturises, nourishes, repairs and helps to reduce and prevent the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles. We were definitely in need of its lifting and firming effects after a night on the toffee vodka! Sun protection was supplied by Korres Natural Sun Care and off piste galmour by Butter London Nail Varnish in La Moss (named after the famous snow bunny herself). Everywhere we look today there's balms! On the counter, in boxes, on shelves and now on the website.

Christmas has started!

Christmas seems to have started here at the Nice Cream Company.

Our first Christmas window is in, decorations are up in the shop and the shelves are brimming with stocking fillers to blowout pamper kits.

Better late than never!

Sorry, we are a bit late with our blog. It's been a busy few days!

London was great, a whistle stop tour, but great. We wanted to visit the REN shop but after wandering around Liverpool Street for about 45 minutes we decided to press on to Holland Park and checkout the Dr Hauschka store. Now, you would imagine that you'd get off the tube at Holland Park, come up onto the high street and there would be the Dr Hauschka store. Wrong! After a number of tense phone calls to my husband (at work on multi-map) we arrive at the store, which is in the middle of a residential area. Not another shop insight. The store is small, calm and has everything Dr Hauschka, Wala and Liv organics have to offer. Fay and I stock all of the Dr Hauschka range in store but were really interested in the Wala natural toothpastes and mouth washes. They didn't disappoint and we're pleased to say that they will be in The Nice Cream Company very soon.

After a stressful morning of navigation we popped into Carluccio's for a large glass of Rose and a bowl of delicious pasta.

To avoid a repeat of the mornings disaster we hopped into a taxi and headed to the Kings Road to checkout the Korres store. The shop was fantastic. We could have spent the whole afternoon in there (in fact, we almost did). The staff were friendly, helpful and couldn't wait to take a look at The Nice Cream Company website. We came away with new friends and a date for a Korres Makeover day at The Nice Cream Company (watch this space for further info).

Jobs all completed (and a small amount of shopping carried out) we headed to our hotel. Of course it wasn't the boutique hotel we had been promised, but it was central and had a couple of beds so we were happy.

In the evening we met up with a couple of friends at Crazy Bear and had a great night. Good food, good wine and good company. Shame the same can't be said for the journey home!

Our First Ever Blog!

Well, here it is, our first ever blog. Fay and I are hoping to keep you updated with what's going on in the shop, on the web and what new fabulous products we've had in on a regular basis. If anything we stock is mentioned in magazines, on TV or radio etc we'll put that info on here too. That way you'll never miss an opportunity to look gorgeous with the latest creams. We'll also make sure we give you helpful hints and tips on all products mentioned (many of them have more than one use!).
